Heirloom portraits you'll treasure for a lifetime

Nothing compares to working with Lynnesy Catron.  As a mom wanting to preserve the precious fleeting moments of my boys’ childhood, I could not have asked for a more enjoyable, authentic experience.  Not only does she have a gift for evoking genuine smiles and candid moments, but our Heirloom experience with Lynnesy left us with stunning images preserved as professionally framed and matted fine art prints carefully selected with her expertise. Thanks to Lynnesy’s gentle nudge, our boys portraits will be beautifully displayed in our home for decades to come rather than stowed  away on a hard drive never to be seen again.

- Emily Grant

It was an enjoyable, authentic experience

She has truly crafted a complete heirloom experience—assisting with wardrobe for the session, helping with choosing the final photos (because there will be too many good ones to choose yourself!) and going through framing options that will look best in your home. I would highly recommend Lynnesy if you’re looking for a extremely talented heirloom photographer who has taken the time to learn and dedicate herself to the craft in order to curate the most perfect snapshot in time. I can’t wait to have my son photographed next!

Included in the session is time to view frame options and hold finished products to determine which is best for your family and will complement your home.

FAQ

What is the best age for heirloom portraits?

What is the best age for heirloom portraits?

Approximately ages 9 months to 12 years. When considering my own children, I have realized that in a few years I would have wished I had. Even “big” kids will soon seem as though they were little.
My only requirement is babies must be able to sit up on their own.
Another option is to have portraits made at different ages to document their entire childhood.

What should my child wear?

What should my child wear?

Please select whites or pale, pastel colors as they photograph best for a clean, vignette look. Think dresses, collars, special occasion outfits, lace, ribbon, smocking, and Peter Pan collars. Examples of designers: Feltman Brothers, Strasburg Children, the Edgehill Collection, The Beaufort Bonnet Company, Dondolo, Little English, Cecil and Lou, and Bailey Boys.

I do offer complimentary wardrobe outfits, but you may wish to purchase your own attire to pass down. Not only will your photograph be treasured, but what a gift to enjoy and photograph an heirloom outfit for generations.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

WHAT IF MY CHILD DOESN’T COOPERATE?

WHAT IF MY CHILD DOESN’T COOPERATE?

In all my years of photographing children, I have never given up. I have toys, jokes, and a calming presence to ensure children are comfortable. Almost always, you leave your session facing the difficult decision of narrowing choices down.

WHY ARE HEIRLOOM PORTRAITS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN TRADITIONAL FAMILY PORTRAITS?

WHY ARE HEIRLOOM PORTRAITS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN TRADITIONAL FAMILY PORTRAITS?

My edited portraits are hand-edited to be on a true white background so that sibling portraits, repeated portraits at different ages, etc., can all be hung side-by-side and look cohesive. For each size of print, I also spend time crafting each child’s features to be proportionate side-by-side, meaning that the perspective of photos complement each other.

There is a difference in paper quality, print labs, glass, and archival materials, and I have curated a specific collection that will never go out of style or deteriorate over the years. I hope this makes for an easier process to create and hang your finished product.
